Didsbury storm / July 1, 2018

First legit chase of the season for me. Not for lack of wishing and hoping and not even my favorite kind of storm but it had structure and power galore. such beautiful aqua/green bands as it moved relatively slowly raking the prairie. I barely got rained on, avoided all the hail and came home invigorated.

That sweet rush when you’re guessing where a storm might go and how to stay in the right spot, while simultaneously trying to remember all the interesting landmarks nearby, taking photos, panos, videos, and now sound (you should hear the rumble). It’s intense like few things in this life. when you first start, it’s overwhelming. the gust front will put you right off. stick it out. learn. dig in and relish one of the few remaining natural things that can both awe and humble mighty humankind.
