The end

photosworthseeing:

Tumblr’s new “Nipple policy” (see here: https://support.tumblr.com/post/180758979032/updates-to-tumblrs-community-guidelines) – the same type of super-hypocritical (and extremely sexist, because can anyone please explain to me, why a female nipple is more offensive than a male nipple? Why are male nipples still allowed?) policy that other platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube etc… also have and that bans showing female nipples in artistic contexts – basically means the end of artistic nude photography on Tumblr. The end of hundreds if not thousands of artistic blogs.
We are currently discussing whether there is any kind of honest and not hypocritical way of continuing our sister-blog https://pwsfineartnudes.tumblr.com/ – but quite frankly, I don’t see any. Not allowing porn is one thing. Censoring human body-parts and especially bodyparts of females while the male counterparts are allowed… yeah… we’re used to that from other platforms.

So… this is probably the end of one of the most natural things in the world: Nudity.

Because, quite frankly, I don’t see Tumblr backpaddling and allowing artistic nudes again. And even if… there is NO WAY how machines or “automatic upload controls” could determine whether something is an artistic nipple or a non-artistic nipple.
How these machines will be able to control whether someone uploads a male or female nipple is highly doubtful anyway.

I am pretty sure that not even a human being could really safely say whether a photo of a nipple alone is an “allowed male” or a “forbidden female” nipple.

Please, Tumblr, stop claiming that you’re a place for artists when you’re not.
