Check you archives for posts flagged as sensitive! I found 30 photos flagged that I am having reviewed. The photos were of an empty hallway, a cat, birds. trees, flowers, sculptures, clouds, smoke, the sun, and shadows. You don’t want your site flagged for deletion because of a stupid bot program.
And. When I go to my archive. Almost all of it is gone!
It’s really upsetting in a way that female nipples are now seen as the same as porn. I’m European. I grew up seeing nudity as just the lack of clothing. Nothing sexual about it. Mostly mundane, sometimes art, sometimes yes, tantalizing.
Suddenly I’m told that it’s wrong. That it is okay to see all the nude sculptures everywhere, that paintings from hundreds of years ago are art, but that the moment a movie shows a woman being topless it is a crime. That there is shame attached to me changing a shirt on a beach or anything that I grew up to see as something normal.
I have no interest in posting explicit porn here, I make gifs of movies that might not be suitable for children for various reasons, but that are far from porn. Yet I really don’t want to have it treated as outrageous if you can see a female breast. All those beautiful scenes from OLLA are getting flagged, because a married couple talks naked in bed and you see nipples.
The USA really need to learn the difference between nudity and porn, because they are more than worlds apart.
us: porn bots are still prevelant even after the “purge”, the mobile app is shit, the algorithm used for dashboard and searched posts is extremely flawed, posts are disappearing, the activity notifications are unsortable, the quality of pictures lessens after being uploaded, and there are pedophilic users
If you’re fan artists and you want people to follow you on other places or be able to find you in the event of a purge, fill out this form. We know artists everywhere are being hit very hard in this situation. Make sure we can find and support you. It doesn’t matter how small your following might be. Your work is important!!
We know there’s one going around for all of Tumblr, but that might be too large at this point to find just fan artists. Also, this information is publicly accessible, so be careful about what you answer and what you keep private. None of the questions are mandatory.
