“So I think Lucille and Thomas would disagree about what the nature of the relationship is and who does the talking, who does the listening, and who does the leading, who does the following. But they are both… They’re both orphans and have lived together, it’s the late 19th century, so it’s obviously a time when a women’s power is expressed through the capacity of the men closest to her. That’s sadly the situation, and so her proximity to her brother is one of co-dependency in that she’s invested in his success in the world, and he feels very protective of her as well but not just because of their isolation, because they’re orphans. The thing of sibling who are close in age, who have been left alone and who need each other and who depend on each other, she’s older he’s younger.”

“It is said there is no sin in killing a beast, only in killing a man. But where does one begin and the other end.”
Edith Cushing “Ghosts are real, that much I know. I’ve seen them all my life…”
Mina Murray/Harker “How can you call this science? Do you think Madam Curie would invite such comparisons? Really!
“
Vanessa Ives
“She called me her Little Scorpion, and only said my name aloud once, before she was murdered, tied to that tree outside. I’ve never liked trees since. Not one.”
Lucy Westenra
“It’s my wedding gift to you. Don’t worry about spoiled little Lucy. I’ll be all right.”
Brona Croft/Lily Frankenstein
“Don’t we make a beautiful couple, ‘thee and me’? Shall we wander the pasture and recite your fucking poetry to the fucking cows. You are blind… like all other men.”
Lucille Sharpe “
But the horror… The horror was for love. The things we do for love like this are ugly, mad, full of sweat and regret. This love burns you and maims you and twists you inside out. It is a monstrous love and it makes monsters of us all.”
“Beautiful things are fragile. At home, we have only black moths. Formidable creatures to be sure, but they lack beauty. They thrive on the dark and the cold.”
¨The Avengers¨ Deleted scene – The Other Tells Loki To Lead.
Or the part where they cut out confirmation that Loki wasn’t fully under his own control to try to make him less sympathetic and appealing.
Fuck you, Marvel
The thing I don’t get is, why do they shoot these scenes which show Loki in a sympathetic and tragic light, and then decide to cut them? It’s like they WANT Loki to be complex and compelling and tragic and sympathetic, but then they chicken out and cut the scenes at the last minute. To quote the Joker “What happened? Did your balls drop off?”
The writers (remember, Joss wrote this, and he’s not exactly known for creating one-dimensional villains/characters in general) probably knew what would make him great: making him sympathetic.
The STUDIO is a bunch of chickenshits who can’t seem to see shades of grey.
There MUST be “Good Guys” and there MUST be “Bad Guys” with absolutely NO inbetween.
