A darker dream that has no ending, that’s so unreal you believe that it’s true! A dance of death out of a mystery tale. The frightened princess doesn’t know what to do! Will the ghosts go away? (No) Will she will them to stay? (No) Either way, there’s no way to win! -It’s a Dangerous Game, Jekyll and Hyde: The Musical
Decided to do one for Lucille to go along with my board for Thomas. It was surprisingly hard to find a quote I liked for Lucille. I liked this one because I can definitely see Lucille calling Edith a “frightened princess” and, of course, her own dark dreams and desires define her and drive her actions.

“So I think Lucille and Thomas would disagree about what the nature of the relationship is and who does the talking, who does the listening, and who does the leading, who does the following. But they are both… They’re both orphans and have lived together, it’s the late 19th century, so it’s obviously a time when a women’s power is expressed through the capacity of the men closest to her. That’s sadly the situation, and so her proximity to her brother is one of co-dependency in that she’s invested in his success in the world, and he feels very protective of her as well but not just because of their isolation, because they’re orphans. The thing of sibling who are close in age, who have been left alone and who need each other and who depend on each other, she’s older he’s younger.”

Lucille Sharpe has to be one of the best characters I’ve seen, her complexity makes her so intriguing. Jessica chastain did an amazing job. @sharpe-on-asgard @lucillesharpeneverapart @lucillelaufeyson for you ❤️

“Lucille (Jessica Chastain) is actually part of the house. They’re connected. The house is history, it’s the past, it’s her childhood, it’s everything. And she cannot separate that.
Her wardrobe has pieces of architecture of the house embroidered in lace,” Del Toro said. “We very deliberately made her the same color as the walls. The walls are the same color as her eyes. We wanted to make them have the color of the house.”

“Beautiful things are fragile. At home, we have only black moths. Formidable creatures to be sure, but they lack beauty. They thrive on the dark and the cold.”
