the law doesn’t mean shit when it comes to stuff like this. Of course it’s “illegal” on paper. But that doesn’t mean shit to how people treat you and places where you LEGIT shouldn’t spend the night or be seen in because you will feel like you’re about to get lynched. Runaways go missing, turn up dead. Nobody is looking for them, nobody knows where they are.
PoC who lived there at one point where either killed, driven out, harassed, etc. Police are racist too so you’ll never get justice. So then PoC started to avoid it altogether.
