EVERYBODY knows (or should) that you DO. NOT. STOP. in Vidor, Texas.

It’s best to just run out of gas elsewhere. Whatever you do, black folks, DO NOT STOP IN VIDOR, TEXAS.

There’s a good chance you’ll get lynched or just come up missing – and I’m not joking.

also do NOT stop in Harrison, Arkansas!!!! (relatively close to OK and MI) a nazi town with a BIG KKK organization.

Vidor’s school district was at the job fair I went to. Thanks to tumblr, I knew to avoid them.

And if you know of any other city or towns to absolutely not stop in please add them to the list.

sun-down towns still exist. I keep telling people and white folks STAY shocked and i’m like…honey you really don’t get it huh

the law doesn’t mean shit when it comes to stuff like this. Of course it’s “illegal” on paper. But that doesn’t mean shit to how people treat you and places where you LEGIT shouldn’t spend the night or be seen in because you will feel like you’re about to get lynched. Runaways go missing, turn up dead. Nobody is looking for them, nobody knows where they are.

PoC who lived there at one point where either killed, driven out, harassed, etc. Police are racist too so you’ll never get justice. So then PoC started to avoid it altogether. There’s nobody there to speak up for you. Then the place starts to attract like-minded racists so it just becomes this little bumfuck town and everyone keeps everyone’s secrets.

People still think i’m being extra when I say I won’t stop and spend in the night in Arkansas. Nope. Idc what parts of the state are more diverse. The whole state is a risk. Nope.

Here’s a collection of tips I’ve learned and use for coloring darker skin tones. I hope this helps people out who want to diversify their art!

Note; I’m not an expert, and I’m mostly drawing from experiences and my cultural background.
