In the sidebar where it says “Blogs,” click on the blog you want to back up.
You’ll see the page that lets you edit the appearance of the blog, etc. At the bottom, you should see a button that says “Export blog.” Click that.
Tumblr will now take a shitload of time to create the backup (hours, or maybe even days if your blog has a ton of media posts) but eventually it’ll send you a link to download the backup. You don’t have to keep your browser open for that time, by the way.
Once you’ve got the link, click it and download! It should give you a ZIP file with a folder of HTML files for the posts and a folder for the media files.
Tumblr will ban all adult related material starting Dec 17th. This is the first step towards making tumblr worthy of content creators. Tumblr needs many changes on its platform to be relevant again. This is a step in the right direction.
I cannot delete all these porn bot replies/reblogs crap shits on my posts any longer (I can spend two hours each day blocking and deleting– but I would rather spend that time on my work). I have tried reporting, blocking, everything, but it’s like a medusa monster. You block and report one and then ten more spring from the head.
It is not fair for me to have to turn off replies, nor should I have to. Can we make it so maybe I can HIDE my blog from any NSFW people? That would limit the porn bs possibly by about 65%. I just want to share my work, I don’t need no “Nancy willing to show you good time… etc.”
Can we please figure out how to control this? If we had the capability to extract ourselves from all NSFW so they wouldn’t see our posts or comment or advertise on them, I would definitely turn that on.
i can tell which of you all are using tumblr mobile because you’re leaving blank comments on every post like grimy little fingerprints. this was a good update
Someone who shall remain nameless for their own sake but who semi-regularly supplies me with fodder for my low-key Bucky Barnes problem sent me a link to this post privately with a message indicating that they were almost, but not quite, too embarrassed to do so. FRIEND. DO NOT WORRY. YOU HAVE JUDGED ACCURATELY, I AM AMUSED. And totally willing to share it for the amusement of others.
It’s hilarious that the quote in the 1st post is in reference to J.C. Leyendecker, because SebStan would fit right in as a Leyendecker model. Ex:
Sharing this excellent update for the unnamed friend.
If your main blog gets terminated, then all your sideblogs go, no matter if you are a member or an admin.
If you get warnings for your sideblog then only the sideblog gets terminated.
Notes or no notes, if you have posted anything from the above category, it will be flagged.
It’s not limited only to the United States, it’s happening internationally.
If your edit is a part of a larger graphic and different form the original offending photo you’re probably safe.
It’s not limited to one fandom, everyone is being effected from Marvel, to Musicians, to WWE, EVERYONE.
Protective Measures:
The best option so far is to delete any photos you posted (POSTED, not reblogged).
Like I mentioned above it was limited to only paparazzi photos but now it seems to be extended to everything that was not posted by the celebrity themselves.
If you’re very attached to your edit, changing the post to “private” may help (but probably not for very long.)
You can also take a backup of your blog by going to tumblr.com/settings/blog/your url and clicking on Export at the bottom of the page.
@captainevanss has answered many asks on this, please go through her blog before sending another ask, she has answered every possible question there is.
Future Blogging:
If you post photos in future remember to save it as a new post and remove existing EXIF details before posting through third party apps (via @tessathompsson)
